Grading Scale:
95-100% = A 80-83% = B- 67-69% = D+
90-94% = A- 77-79% = C+ 64-66% = D
87-89% = B+ 74-76% = C 60-63% = D-
84-86% = B 70-73% = C- 50-59 = F
Grading Policy: Please notice that the grading scale does not fall below a 50%. This means that each grade has an equal percentage of 10 points. When the scale is set at 59 to 0 as being the F portion, then the balance is weighed so heavily for failing that some students feel as if they will never be able to recover from a bad grade. I believe that this scale is more balanced and fair to the students.
Homework: Students and parents are encouraged to visit the Assignment calendar on the Home page of the 7th Grade website where they will find a list of the assignments for the week. If students are absent, they may go to the website, read the explanation for the day, print off the homework, and be ready for class the next day.
Redo: The 7th Grade team has a philosophy of allowing our students to redo their work. We want grades to reflect what students truly learn, not just how they perform on one test/paper/project at one point in the year. In my class, students may always redo homework, writing assignments, and tests for a higher grade at any time during the quarter. Late work will reflect on their PRIDE grade, however. If they have more than 3 late assignments, they will not be able to receive higher than an N for Needs Improvement.
